Susie Ashford, Connie Pearson and I were very tight. So one day Mrs. Chambers was writing on the board and I turned around to talk to Connie and Mrs. Chambers said (with her back to us) Gray turn around and stop talking to Pearson. We were so amazed. We figured out after class that this is how she got her name "The Hawk" because she had eyes in the back of her head, ha ha. Those were some good old times.
